Purpose statement

Chemours makes coating chemistry easier to select, document and scale

Our role is to help industrial customers turn complex material questions into practical choices. For coatings, paints and additives, that means balancing opacity, durability, regulatory scope, supply continuity and sustainability data in a way that formulation teams can actually use.

Chemistry

Chemours supports coating programs where surface performance and documentation matter at the same time. A formulator may ask about titanium dioxide grade selection, fluoropolymer release properties or additive compatibility, while an EHSS colleague needs GHS language and an operations team needs batch and lead-time visibility. We keep those conversations connected so the selected material is not separated from the conditions that make it work.

Planet

The company frames sustainability through measurable pathways: lower VOC options, mass-balance discussions where applicable, energy and emissions tracking, and clearer material stewardship. We avoid unsupported claims such as non-toxic or absolutely pure. Instead, each improvement is discussed with a method, baseline and limitation, whether the subject is carbon data, recycled content or safer handling guidance from SDS Section 2.

People

Coatings decisions affect lab teams, plant operators, procurement managers, applicators and downstream customers. Chemours uses an advisory voice because the best answer is rarely a single product code. It is a set of choices: which grade to test, which document to review, which claim to avoid, which region needs a separate file and which risk should be escalated before commercialization.

Commitments that guide every Chemours conversation

01

Transparent methods

Performance language is tied to practical test context such as drawdown thickness, accelerated weathering protocol, HPLC or GC purity method, viscosity conditions or the product TDS value used in the review.

02

Responsible documentation

Regulatory statements are treated as product-specific and region-specific. Teams can request SDS, TDS, REACH, TSCA and customer declaration support instead of relying on broad claims that may not apply.

03

Practical collaboration

Advisors help translate lab, plant and commercial requirements into a shared action list, from sample timing to batch review to final customer claim language.

Progress measured with third-party discipline

Chemours sustainability communication should be read as a documented journey, not a shortcut around chemical hazard communication. Our teams can discuss carbon reduction pathways, waste intensity, water stewardship, responsible sourcing and worker safety with the supporting methodology available for review. Where third-party ratings or assurance statements are referenced, customers should ask for the latest report year, scoring boundary and verification body so the data can be used correctly in supplier questionnaires.
